PENAMPANG: A newly formed initiative Mantap (Moyog Agroindustry and Tourism Park) had started mobilising efforts to explore the tourism potential and development opportunities within the upper Penampang area.
Led by Datuk Stephen Sampil as the newly appointed chairman, Mantap is an initiative focused on exploring the potential and development opportunities within the rural areas of Penampang, spanning from Moyog to Terian, Longkogungan, and surrounding areas which are largely still underdeveloped.

Despite its proximity to Kota Kinabalu, only a handful of tourists visited the area due to the absence of adequate facilities and accommodation options.
Hence, Sampil said it is high time for Penampang to seize the opportunity to attract more tourists by enhancing its infrastructure and facilities.
