SANDAKAN: The strength of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) in Karamunting is highly dependent on unity and harmony, as well as close relations between the people and leaders of different races and religions.
Karamunting Gagasan Rakyat Division Chief Datuk George Hiew said Karamunting is an area with people from various races and religions.

He is proud of all the community representatives who can unite under the Gagasan Rakyat for the continuous development and wellbeing of Karamunting.
“As Karamunting residents, we will continue to unite and respect each other regardless of race or religion.
“We must continue to unite, to develop Karamunting and provide comfort, safety and harmony for the people,” he said.
George, who is also Karamunting Assemblyman, said this at a Ramadan Iftar programme with the asnaf and orphans at Kenalanmu Seafood Restaurant, Mile 4, here.

He also presented a contribution to 30 orphans and asnaf during the event which was also attended by village chiefs and members of the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) in Karamunting constituency as well as 63 Karamunting Gagasan Rakyat’s branch chiefs.
George urged the Gagasan Rakyat branch chiefs to remain active in providing services and helping the people.

“Fight for the rights of the people in Karamunting, go to the ground and understand the problems they face and help them to bring up their problems to the relevant authorities,” he said.
