LABUAN: The Federal Territories Ministry should do a study on why many quarters here regard the handover of Labuan by Sabah to be a Federal Territory in 1984 was a failed experiment.
“It should determine why there are calls every other day, including from Sabah, who feel it can better manage the island even after 40 years of federalisation,” said activist and former election candidate Lau Seng Kiat.

“Strangely, there are no such calls in the case of Kuala Lumpur or Putra Jaya the other two FTs.
“Only a study will help Federal better understand Labuan’s sentiments rather than allow it to keep surfacing,” he said.
