LAHAD DATU: A 70-year-old woman was killed after her Perodua Myvi skidded and crashed into her neighbour’s gate at Taman Gabugan, here, on Sunday.

Lahad Datu District Police Chief ACP Dr Rohan Shah Ahmad said initial findings showed the victim rammed into the gate and a parked car around 1.30pm.

“The victim was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said, Monday.

He said the body was taken to the hospital where blood samples were taken to determine the cause of the accident.

“A post-mortem is being conducted,” said Rohan.

The case is being investigated under the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death due to reckless and dangerous driving.

Rohan urged those with information on the case to come forward or contact investigating officer Insp Mohamad Humaidi Harun at 089-881 255 (ext 414) to help in the investigation.

He also advised drivers to be alert of their health conditions before getting behind the wheel.
