386 Indonesians deported through Tawau Port
This is the sixth deportation via sea routes this year, she said, adding the detainees had committed various offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Immigration Regulations 1963.
SOME 386 Indonesians were deported through the Tawau Port on Tuesday (March 26).

Sabah Immigration Department Director Datuk Sitti Saleha Habib Yusoff said of the 386, 291 were male and 72 female, and 23 were children aged under 12.

“All of them were from the Kota Kinabalu, Papar, Tawau and Sandakan Immigration detention centres and were deported to Nunukan, Indonesia via sea routes,” she said in a statement, Wednesday.

This is the sixth deportation via sea routes this year, she said, adding the detainees had committed various offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Immigration Regulations 1963.

Sitti reminded all migrants and foreigners to keep their work permits up to date and make sure that they have proper identification and travel documents with them.

She also reminded them to not overstay and breach any immigration laws when in Sabah.

“Sabah Immigration will continue to enforce the law ... and take stern action against offenders,” she said.

“Our deportation operations are part of ongoing initiatives to deal with detainees at Immigration depots statewide,” she said.
