Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah State Assembly will resume sitting for four days, starting April 22.

Speaker Datuk Seri Kadzim M Yahya said the meeting would be officiated by Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.

“Our purpose of paying a visit to Juhar today is to ask him to complete the Opening Ceremony of the Fifth Term and First Meeting of the Sixteenth State Legislative Assembly on April 18.

“After the inauguration, we will hold an Aidilfitri feast for all those present. The conference will start on April 22 until April 25,” he said.

Kadzim said Juhar had agreed to attend and advised that amendments be made to some standing rules that are no longer relevant.

“As a former Speaker himself, Juhar knows that any rules that are no longer applicable must be reviewed before amendments can be made.

“We are studying to amend any standing rules that are no longer relevant,” said Kadzim during the courtesy visit at Istana Seri Kinabalu.

Also present were Deputy Speaker Datuk Yong We Kong and Brigadier General Datuk Al Hambra Juhar.

Earlier, Juhar received a visit from the Tungku subdistrict Dakwah Agency of the Sabah Department of Islamic Religious Affairs led by Momen Mukmin Anghal @ Anchai.
