Borneo Divers Mabul Resort receives four-star rating

SEMPORNA: Borneo Divers Mabul Resort (Borneo Divers) has been accorded the prestigious 4-star rating.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Deputy Minister Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, on behalf of Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, presented the 4-star rating certificate to Datuk Hajan Gurimbang, Director of Borneo Divers and Sea Sports (Sabah) Sdn Bhd, owner of the resort over the weekend.

Borneo Divers, a pioneer dive operator of Sipadan Island, globally known as one of the top 10 dive destinations in the planet has tastefully enlarged and upgraded the resort.
There is now 62 units of spanking new, spacious and rustic Luxury Villa Rooms, four Luxury Suit Rooms, 30 units of upgraded Executive Beach Chalets and 15 units of Standard Rooms – making a total of 113 rooms in all.
Amenities have been comprehensively added with guests’ comfort and fund in mind.
A second large, free-form ocean facing pool has been created for guests not out diving or island hopping but instead choosing to opt for a lazy or contemplative day back at the cosy resort with many matured “ketapang” trees.

The upgraded main dining area and the second all-wood dining area (with a total capacity of approximately 200 pax) with soft lighting and soothing ambience is a perfect place for the guests to relax and enjoy their meals.
Khairul said that it is no easy feat to create a 4-star establishment in an island where even the basic necessities of water and electricity has to be solved and congratulated Borneo Divers for creating a beautiful and comfortable resort.

“It is timely to now have a 4-star resort in Mabul Island as we continue our efforts to position Mabul as the international gateway to Sipadan,” he added.
Meanwhile, Hajan said the other new amenities like the fully-carpeted function hall, gym, camera room, KTV and leisure rooms to cater for table-soccer and other indoor games like table tennis, and massage room etc will ensure guests have fun stuff to do if they want activities apart from enjoying the tranquillity of the island resort.
