Praise for Sabah’s forest management. But questions remain over ex-Minister’s role in uplifting the two poorest states

Kota Kinabalu: Former Economic and Finance Minister Dato’ Sri Mustapha bin Mohamed, 74, popularly known as “Tok Pa” from Kelantan who retired from active politics as a Bersatu member is all praise for Sabah’s SDG achievements.

Presenting as keynote paper on “Leading Collaboration for Sabah's Sustainable Development: Making Sabah an Investment Destination” at the Sabah Region SDG Summit 2024 officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor recently also commended the Sabah Forestry Department on its SFM (Sustainable Forest Management).

Forestry Director Datuk Frederick Kugan was in Dubai recently to speak at the COP or the United Nations Climate Change Conference taking place (United Arab Emirates Nov 30 – Dec 12, 2023).

Frederick delivered a message in Dubai that “Conservation is a War”, when tigers are endangered in Malaya,  when escaping logged areas and endangered Orang Asli settlements.
