Labuan’s Surrender Point history retold
A ceremony was held to mark its “re-dedication” led by Col Convey J Shillabeer CSC, Australian Defence Advisor to Malaysian government, Australian High Commission Malaysia.
LABUAN: The historic Surrender Point at Layang-Layangan here – site of the Japanese surrender of Sarawak and British North Borneo in 1945 – has been upgraded to befit its stature as an important site in war history.

The refreshing new look includes a mural painting of a soldier blowing the Last Bugle and brief statements on war history

A ceremony was held to mark its “re-dedication” led by Col Convey J Shillabeer CSC, Australian Defence Advisor to Malaysian government, Australian High Commission Malaysia.

The Chief Executive Officer of Labuan Corporation Tuan Rithuzan Ismail was  represented by LC senior officer Mahathir Abdul Hamid and the Australian Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs by two officers.
