Climate change: More court cases likely

Kota Kinabalu: More cases related to climate change are expected to go to courts, says Commonwealth Law Association (CLA) President, Peter D Maynard. 

According to him, there are already quite a number of climate change related cases going to courts, citing the cases of the Torres Strait and Tiwi islanders in Australia. 

“There are quite a number of cases related to climate change going to courts. I was recently talking with somebody from Australia about the cases involving Torres Strait islanders and Tiwi islanders. These are people living in coastal islands which are disappearing
