They were also reminded to do penance and abstinence during the entire 45 days Lent period beginning on Ash Wednesday.

The occasion this year coincided with Valentine’s Day.
Mass was celebrated in all Catholic churches statewide.
Priest reminded churchgoers that the ash placed on their foreheads are reminders of the dirt and sinfulness in their hearts and the need for reconciliation, repentance, and conversion.
Most Catholic churches in Sabah witnessed full house turnouts.
