LAHAD DATU: A boy is in critical condition after being rescued by members of the public at a river in Kampung Tabanak, here, on Friday. Another is missing.
District Fire and Rescue Department Chief Sumsoa Rashid said the department received a distress call at 4.39pm via MERS999.

The department was informed that two boys, aged 11, were feared drowned while bathing in the river.
“One of the boys was saved, while another is still missing.
“A search and rescue (SAR) operation is activated to locate the missing victim. The team browsed along the river and carried out surface searching using the rescue boat,” he said.
