PENAMPANG: A couple and their friends were arrested with 6.43kg of syabu in a 1.30pm raid at Kampung Nambazan, here, on Wednesday (Jan 25).
District Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton said the suspects comprised two local men, 35 and 31, and a 33-year-old foreign woman.

“Acting on information, a man was apprehended in the driver’s seat of a Perodua Bezza where 38.22gm of syabu and 24.36gm of ganja were found inside his sling bag.
“He admitted he was a drug dealer and said to be working with his friend known as Eric.
“The team raided the friend’s house in Jalan Damai, Kota Kinabalu, where the drugs were kept.
“The couple tried to escape by pushing the door to prevent the officers from entering. He was arrested after a scuffle and the drugs were found in a closet,” he said.

Also seized were a Nissan Fairlady and Perodua Kelisa.

The case is being investigated under Sections 39B and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Two days later, a three-member syabu-taking group known as the Jun Jun Gang was taken down in Ketiau, Putatan.
Sammy said the 6.30am arrest of the trio aged 19 to 23 solved five cases in the district.
“Their modus operandi is to steal motorcycles and take them apart. Police managed to recover three motorcycles worth RM30,000 and are still tracking down some of the parts.
“One of the suspects has a criminal history of housebreaking and all tested positive for syabu,” Sammy added.
