Ministry of Youth and Sports win bowling tournament

Kota Kinabalu: The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBSS) tenpin bowling team emerged as overall champions in the 29th Sabah State Government Inter-Department tournament organised by the KK Galaxy Bowl Company, at the KK Galaxy Bowl court, Centre Point.
This league tournament with the participation of 16 teams from various state and federal agencies in the State started last year and was held over 30 weeks.

KBSS led by Azril Fakhree Khainih together with Mohd Noer Said, Mohd Isam Kaim, Hazmi Merdan, Husni Al-Fakhari Usin and Antasha Aimuni Abdullah took the team title with a total pin fall of 51,052 followed by the Chief Minister’s Department in second place with 50,794 pin falls and in third place was Sabah State Education Department with 49,720.
Azril, who also captured the individual master title with 1,481 pin falls ahead of Jamnun Sapin (1,395) from the Chief Minister Department and UMS’ Pungut Ibrahim (1,395), praised fellow teammates for their commitment and effort to ensure the team’s success.
He also thanked Assistant Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Fairuz Renddan, permanent secretary Datuk Mansur Asun and Sabah Sports Council director Mohd Asneh Mohd Noor for their support and advice.
Meanwhile, Mansur said it was a very encouraging result for the team as they prepare for upcoming competition between the Sabah state and federal departments.
