Kota Kinabalu: Businessman-activist Datuk Mohd Akjan bin Datu Ali Muhammad denied any involvement with an alleged drug cartel leader now in police remand, although a person standing beside him in a viral video happens to be the suspect.

“Although the photo depicted in the viral video is genuine, it was taken in 2016 after a Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration when the alleged drug leader and 20 people from Sandakan and Lahad Datu came to my house wishing to join Pekida Malaysia. I was one of the leaders and members in the NGO at that time.
