Kota Kinabalu win four titles at Sabah Junior Masters

Kota Kinabalu: Kota Kinabalu captured four titles at the just concluded Sabah Junior Masters tennis tournament held at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex over the weekend.
Yuna Koh was the toast of the team with two titles in the girls Under-10 and 12 categories.
ADVERTISEMENT In the Under-10 final, she defeated Sandakan’s Sandra Allysa Silvester and in joint third place were Kota Kinabalu’s Rena Kinawi and Kate Ukang.
She defeated teammate Theda Liew Yii (KK) for her second title in the Under-12 category while Charllotte Avril Silvester (Sandakan) and Selena Adeyola (KK) finished in joint third.
The other titles for Kota Kinabalu came from the Under-18 categories with Liora Hii triumphant in the girls event and Rus Zaneed Hazmy in the boys event.
In second place behind Liora was Miza Rasyidah of Keningau followed by Tawau’s Chow Yi Ling in third place while the second place for the boys went to Samuel Guansing (KK), with Braylen Odell Johannes (Sandakan) and Muhd Asyahmie Haffizie (Sandakan) in joint third.
ADVERTISEMENT Sandakan returned with three titles. Bradley Oscar Johannes came top in the boys Under-12 followed by Mohd Ryan Rayzam (Sandakan) and Muhd Ammar Imran (Keningau)/Md Faziezan Azief (Sandakan) in joint third.
The second title came from Shawn Alfie Silvester who was ranked top in the boys Under-14 category followed by Krishen Gil Jayendran (KK), and in joint third place were Mohd Razeeq Adly (KK)/Kong Hui Zhe (Tawau).

Steevie Alfie Silvester delivered the third in the boys Under-16 and in second place was Sharry Ineswaran (Sandakan) and Chow Khai Yong (Tawau)/Braylen Odell Johannes (Sandakan) in joint third.
Nine events were held in the three-day tournament and the other two titles went to Keningau.
In the boys Under-10, Muhd Ammar Imran captured the title with Christian Lee (KK) in second place followed by Gideon Gerald Shim (KK) and Lous Ho (KK) in joint third.
Miza Rasyidah Zakirah delivered the other title in the girls Under-16 and in second and third place were Hannah Hii (KK) and Bryana Scarlett Johannes (Sandakan) respectively.
Sabah Tennis Association president Johnson Koh who gave away the prizes reminded the players to display good sportsmanship in the courts and he also praised the parents for their sacrifices and support to their children.
