SABAH Credit Corporation (SCC) on Nov 9 launched Sabah’s first financial super-app, Yono.

The mobile app aims to contribute to the State’s socio-economic development.

Officiating the launch at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu, State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said Yono, an acronym for

“You Only Need One”, reflects its vision – one platform that caters to all the people’s financial requirements.

“The launch of Yono represents the embrace of a future, imagined and designed exclusively for the citizens,” he said.

SCC Chief Executive Officer George Taitim Tulas said Yono’s launch opened a new chapter of the corporation’s progress as it moves towards the future of finance and innovation.

“Three years ago, we embarked on a journey to revolutionise the way payments are made and received in our State with the introduction of Sabah Pay.

“This efficient payment collection app has not only facilitated seamless transactions between the people and government agencies but also played a key role in providing convenience to the people, ensuring cost-effective operations while enhancing the efficiency of the State Government.”

In the last three years, Sabah Pay collected a total of RM46 million up to Oct 31, for state government agencies from 131,000 registered users.

“Today (Nov 9), we (SCC) are thrilled to mark another remarkable milestone in our digital evolution with the official launch of Yono super-app.

“This cutting-edge platform is more than just an app. It is a vision of the future, a comprehensive financial ecosystem that will redefine the way we perceive and manage our finances.

“Within the interconnected ecosystem of our superapp’s integrated platform, lies a world of opportunities.

“Yono stands as a testament to our commitment to embracing the digital age, enabling financial inclusion, and ensuring the prosperity of the people,” he said, adding what sets Yono apart is its all-inclusive nature.

The free-to-download mobile app features access to financial solutions, including the digital wallet Yonopay.
