Kota Kinabalu: A police report has been filed by a teacher from Kedah who claims she and her friends suffered RM18,000 worth of losses to a man claiming to be a mountain guide.Athirah Mad Desa, 31, lodged the report at the Tanjung Aru police station here on Sept 8 before returning to Kedah with her Mount Kinabalu climbing aspirations crushed.

“A friend of mine suggested me to get in touch with a woman identified as Azmina who serves as the registration process’ middleman.
“I got in touch with her and she advised me to pay RM500 as initial payment, followed by another RM850 deposit, for the climb involving via Ferrata activities,” she told Daily Express.
