Kota Kinabalu: First it was students of SK Pengaraan crossing a river using an improvised zipline in Nabawan in April because no boats as contingency measures were provided when several suspension bridges there were damaged by floods.

This resulted in the Prime Minister stepping in with an emergency allocation as well as the State Government rushing boats which actually only cost RM2,000 and by right should have been provided by the office of the elected representatives there.

The MP is Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup while Assemblyman is Datuk Abdul Ghani Mohd Yassin.
