Visitors from Singapore exempted from RTK-Ag
Kota Kinabalu: Travellers originating from Singapore are exempted from taking an RTK-Antigen test upon arrival at the State’s borders, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun. He said this is part of the State Government’s latest entry guidelines for international travellers updated Thursday, which takes effect today (April 1). “However, travellers transiting through Singapore (from other countries) are still required to undergo an RTK-Antigen test done by a trained healthcare personnel prior to immigration clearance at Sabah’s entry points,” he said, adding the same applies to travellers from other countries. He said the use of personal RTK-Antigen test kits are not allowed. Additionally, travellers originating from Singapore will still need either a negative RT-PCR or RTK-Antigen test done by a trained healthcare personnel two days before departure. However, those transiting through Singapore would specifically need a negative RT-PCR test taken two days before departure. “All travellers are required to download, register and activate the MySejahtera application and fill in the Traveller Declaration Form on the app by clicking the ‘Traveller’ icon, including vaccination information,” said Masidi. He added that partially vaccinated/unvaccinated non-Malaysians from Singapore and transit travellers must purchase Covid-19 travel insurance. Only those fully vaccinated will be permitted entry into Sabah without quarantine. Masidi said the partially vaccinated/ unvaccinated with a negative test result will have to quarantine at home or the hotel for five days. “For travellers with a positive test result, the quarantine period is seven days for those fully vaccinated and 10 days for the partially vaccinated/unvaccinated,” he said. He added that the cost of the RTK-Antigen test, transportation to quarantine premise, quarantine and Covid-19 treatment costs are to be paid by travellers. Sabah’s caseload dipped to 214 on Thursday from 313 the day earlier, as certain urban areas recorded a significant fall in cases. Masidi said Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest decrease with 70 cases fewer than the day earlier, while Putatan recorded 23 cases less. “A total of six districts recorded double-digit cases, namely Kota Kinabalu (34), Papar (27), Penampang (18), Keningau (15), Beaufort (15) and Tuaran (13), while 19 other districts recorded single-digit cases,” he said.

Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 34 cases, followed by Papar (27), Penampang (18), Keningau (15), Beaufort (15), Tuaran (13) and Beluran (9). “Semporna and Tongod did not record any new infections,” he added. Masidi said the majority of cases are mild, with 205 out of 214 cases being category one and two infections, while three are in category three, four in category four and two in category five.
