Kuala Lumpur: GFM Services Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, Global Facilities Management Sdn Bhd, has won the Public Works Department's (PWD) Outstanding Contractor Award.

In a statement on Tuesday, the listed company said it received the award for the provision of building facility management services at the Sultan Iskandar Building, which is the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex in Johor Bahru.

"We have worked on the CIQ Complex for 10 years since its inception and hope to continue to manage this asset for the government," said Managing Director Ruslan Nordin.

The award, presented annually, was based on a set of stringent criteria determined by the PWD in terms of quality of work, timely delivery and consistent performance.

GFM said the award was aimed at recognising companies with best practices to further promote and elevate the industry's standards in Malaysia.

The CIQ Complex acts as a main transportation hub between Singapore and Malaysia, housing various government agencies, including the immigration and customs checkpoint for land vehicles with the capacity to handle 70 million visitors annually. – Bernama
