PETALING JAYA: An economist has called on the government to move away from its definition of hardcore poverty following recent claims and goals set by state leaders on its “eradication”.

Kota Kinabalu: THE State Government is committed and currently implementing hardcore poverty eradication programmes with the cooperation of all district offices, local authorities (PBTs) as well as government-linked companies (GLCs) and industry players, said Juhar. .

Kuala Lumpur: Efforts to eradicate hardcore poverty in the country was not the same as ensuring no Malaysians were still poor, Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli explained to Opposition lawmakers in Parliament today.
