Universiti Kuala Lumpur Strengthens International Collaboration with SEOULTECH Through Transfer Articulation Agreement
Kuala Lumpur: Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) is proud to announce the formalization of its partnership with Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SEOULTECH), Korea, through the signing of a Transfer Articulation Agreement, marking an exciting new chapter in academic collaboration between the two prestigious institutions. This momentous occasion, which took place at UniKL's main campus, further strengthens the relationship between both universities and underscores their shared commitment to academic excellence, student mobility, and international collaboration in the rapidly evolving field of Information Technology (IT).

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, faculty, and staff members from both universities, with Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin, President and Chief Executive Officer of UniKL, delivering the opening speech. In his address, Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman highlighted the enduring partnership between UniKL and SEOULTECH, emphasizing the successful student exchange programs that have taken place over the past few years. These initiatives have not only enriched the academic experience of students but have also fostered meaningful cultural exchanges, contributing to mutual understanding between Malaysia and Korea. A Strong History of Student Mobility

The partnership between UniKL and SEOULTECH has been marked by a series of impactful student mobility programs. In 2024, 20 students from UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) participated in the Winter Camp at SEOULTECH, followed by 25 students in January 2025. In return, UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) hosted students from SEOULTECH, with 14 students participating in the English Edutourism Programme in July 2024, and another 10 students in January 2025.

These exchange programs have proven to be invaluable in providing students with academic enrichment, cultural immersion, and opportunities for personal growth while fostering international friendships and cross-cultural understanding.

Expanding the Collaboration

Building on this successful foundation, the Transfer Articulation Agreement introduces the 3+2 Transfer Degree Program, which will allow UniKL's Diploma in Information Technology (IT) students to pursue their Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering at SEOULTECH. Students are expected to complete this program within five (5) years, with three (3) years at UniKL MIIT and two (2) years at SeoulTech.

Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman also shared that the collaboration extends beyond student mobility and in the coming days encompass visiting lecturer attachments to foster academic exchange, knowledge sharing, and deeper institutional ties.
