Opening minds of rural students
Water rocket launch sessions have been a catalyst for the creativity and innovation of the students.
TAMBUNAN: Highly Immersive Programme (HIP) and STEM Carnival: Guardian Of Adventures provided an opportunity for 465 students from 24 schools in this district to get to know more about careers and foster students’ interest to continue working towards them.

The programme held at SK Patau here recently also involved the District Education Department and external agencies such as the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) and Dark Sky Malaysia, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO).

District Officer Sobitun Makajil, when closing the programme, expressed full support for such programmes being held and the need to continue in the future.

He said that talk from RMN and Dark Sky Malaysia, as well as the application of STEM subject skills such as building bridges and water rockets, were rare experiences for the students.
