Sabah crowned overall champs

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah was crowned overall champions for the first time in the 7th National Deaf Tenpin Bowling Championship held at Ampang Superbowl in Seri Iskandar, Perak from June 27-30.
They took home seven golds, one silver and one bronze to top the medal tally followed by second placed Sarawak with one gold, one silver and two bronzes and in third place was Federal Territory with six silvers and two bronzes.

Sulaiman Abdul Rajak shined in the competition by winning two individual golds in the men’s singles and men’s all event, the men’s doubles gold with Nethaneal Siegfred Enson as well as one gold in the team event with Nethaneal Siegfred Enson, Nathaneal Bernard Boidon and Edward Liew Tze Kiong.
Huwainaa Danduan also did extremely well to win one individual gold in the women’s all event, women’s doubles gold with Masrumi Juri Azhar and women’s team gold with Masrumi Juri Azhar, Rose Mourus and Nor Misha Nathera.
The silver was won by Nethaneal Siegfred Enson in the men’s all event and he also took the bronze in the men’s singles.
Sabah Deaf Sports Association president Spancer Soo Kok Heng congratulated the athletes for their successful outing to make the State proud.

He said it was a huge improvement to win the overall title from the fourth place they achieved back in 2017 at the previous championship held in Kedah.
He thanked the Youth and Sports Ministry, Sabah Sports Council and all the sponsors for their support and hope more companies will come forward to finance their programme.
