RANAU: All Committee members (AJK) of the StarSabah division here are urged “to turun padang” and ensure the public know the achievements of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government.

Party Vice President Datuk Abidin Madingkir said the State Election (PRN) would be held soon, so the party machinery needs to ensure that the people know all the good things that had been achieved by the government of the day.

“All Star divisional AJK need to start working on the ground, in accordance with the recommendations of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor so that the public know the achievements of the GRS government.

“It needs to be stated that the government’s income has increased, investment has increased, GRS is committed to demanding the 40 per cent right as enshrined in the Constitution, the re-establishment of the Sabah Padi and Rice Board and so on,” he said.

Abidin, who is also Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, added that the establishment of the Jawatankuasa Komuniti Desa Madani (JKDM) in Sabah is no longer an issue.

“The Sabah Cabinet has decided not to recognise the establishment of JKDM. A circular letter has been issued to all District Offices for that purpose,” he said.

Abidin, who is Paginatan Assemblyman, said when officiating StarSabah’s new membership reception in Paginatan at Kolam Migong Kg Langkuag on Sunday.

Abidin received membership forms of 125 people of Kg Langkuag joining StarSabah with 73 forms presented by Migong Gadis and from Lohan Skim 2 and 52 presented by Jusri Sahidin.

Kg Langkuag StarSabah branch will be set up in the near future.

Abidin welcomed the entry of new members from Kg Langkuag and Kg Lohan Skim 2.

“Well done and congratulations to the new members for choosing the StarSabah as a vehicle for struggle in politics.

“You have made the right decision because Paginatan will be contested by the StarSabah in the next PRN as representative of GRS.

“As agreed by the top leadership of GRS, Karanaan will be represented by Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS), while Kundasang by PBS,” he said.

Abidin added that all GRS components would use the GRS symbol in the PRN.

He said, with the entry of new members, it would not only strengthen the party’s strength in Paginatan, but also GRS’s position, especially in the Ranau parliamentary constituency.

“What is important is the commitment of the new members to strengthen GRS in accordance with the GRS’ slogan ‘Sabah First’,” he said.

On the proposed establishment of Kg Langkuag, Abidin called for the UPPM here to provide the necessary documents such as preparations for a complete village profile to be submitted to the District Office so that the process of village establishment can be simplified.

Also present at the ceremony were the Special Officer to Datuk Abidin Madingkir and Division Deputy Head Juis Konsuling, CDO and Division Secretary Jipili Sigal, Division Deputy Head IV Kapilin Hj Surop, Head of Information Suhaimin Duari, Wiranita Head Siti Nurjana Abas, Wiramuda Head Hillary Salmoen and several other divisional committee members.
