SANDAKAN: Sabah recorded 435 cases of domestic violence statewide last year, as recorded by the Women and Children Sexual Crimes Investigation Division D11 of Sabah police last year.
State Minister of Community Development and People’s Wellbeing, Datuk James Ratib, said it is imperative to address such cases and the need to overcome them as best as possible.

“Domestic violence is a serious problem that involves physical, emotional behaviour and may have some impact on the community.
“The authorities and our community in Sabah have made various efforts to overcome this problem, including organising awareness programmes,” he said, when closing the “Women’s Santuni Program – Providing Services Towards Women’s Well-Being” at a Sandakan Community Hall, on Tuesday.
