Kota Kinabalu: The Bilateral Malaysia-Indonesia Exercise (Malindo Jaya) Series 27AB/24 has successfully enhanced the relationship and cooperation between the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) and the Indonesian navy (TNI-AL).
RMN Eastern Fleet Command Headquarters announced Saturday that the exercise, which began last Sunday (June 23) and concluded Saturday, was conducted at the RMN base in Kota Kinabalu, Sepanggar here, and the surrounding waters of the South China Sea.

The exercise was officiated by Eastern Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Datuk Muhammad Ruzelme Ahmad Fahimy, and witnessed by TNI-AL Second Fleet Command Chief of Staff First Admiral Isswarto last Monday (June 24).
“TLDM assets involved were KD Selangor, KD Rencong, and a Maritime Operations Helicopter (HOM), while TNI-AL deployed KRI-Frans Kaisiepo, KRI Sampari, and an AS565 Panther helicopter for the joint exercise,” the statement said.
According to the statement, various base-level exercises, including a Table Top Exercise, were conducted throughout the exercise.
The statement added that discussions by Operational Officers at sea covered various aspects of conventional warfare and maritime security.
