Kota Kinabalu: SOGCE 2024 Organising Chairperson Dolly Jimayol said SOGCE supports the state government’s efforts and encourages collaborations and partnerships, creating mutual benefits and opening doors for local contractors in Sabah to actively participate in the oil, gas, and energy sector.
With that in mind, she announced that SOGCE is not only an annual event but a continuous platform for new initiatives.

“As many of you know, SOGCE is the premier event dedicated to oil, gas, and energy in Sabah. This conference and exhibition serve as a vital platform, bringing together professionals, technologists, industry experts, and policymakers.
“It fosters networking and discussions on crucial industry matters, promoting growth and exploring opportunities in the Sabah region.
“Over the next two days, we will feature impactful paper presentations and plenary sessions led by experts from local and international organizations in the oil, gas, and energy sectors.

She said it is an excellent opportunity to learn, network, and advance in this constantly evolving field.
“This year, SOGCE sees an increased number of participants, with approximately 400 conference delegates and over 100 exhibiting companies. Please give yourselves a big round of applause for contributing to the success of SOGCE.
“We continue to involve university students in SOGCE to help them gain in-depth knowledge about the industry.
“More than 100 students, along with their lecturers, are participating this year—more than 40 as conference delegates and the rest as participants in the SOGCE-SPE KLS programme, Energy4Me. Additionally, around 60 young professionals are attending our NextGen Energy Leader Programme,” she said.
Furthermore, she said this event includes the SOGCE Networking Golf, hosted by Midas Events Management (MENand organized by the Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Council, in which part of the proceeds will benefit charitable organizations, including Bukit Harapan and The Sabah Society for the Blind.
Moreover, Dolly said SOGCE provides exhibitors with a prime platform to showcase their latest equipment, technology, and solutions, demonstrating their competitive advantages and competencies.
“Today, we will witness the signing of 10 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) by various companies which marked as the largest signing ceremony in SOGCE’s history.
“This milestone underscores SOGCE’s primary aim of spurring collaboration and partnership, and we are honoured to be the chosen platform for these significant agreements,” she said.
