Man trampled to death by elephant in Perak

Kota Kinabalu: A man in Perak is suspected to have been trampled to death by an elephant near a rubber plantation, it has been reported.
The 65-year-old was found “soaked in blood” and was pronounced dead on the spot by a medical officer on June 23 at 5:40pm in Kampung Lerlar RPS Kemar in Gerik, the Star reported.

Gerik OCPD Superintendent Zulkifli Mahmood said investigation found that the victim had left for the plantation area to look for wood at about 3:15pm on the same day.
“His 44-year-old daughter, who was in a hut nearby, heard his screams and also the sound of the animal.
“She and her brother-in-law rushed to the scene and found the man soaked in blood.
“They also caught sight of the elephant,” he said.
