Lands and Survey holds Kaamatan joy

PENAMPANG: The Lands and Survey Department held its Kaamatan event participated by staff in the family spirit of unity, recently.
The Sugandoi singing competition emphasised on team work in duet or choir format from every zones of the department.

Earlier in the morning, the winning teams in the sport events proved coordination and team spirit were the key to success.
Each team consisted both sexes.
The most popular event being the tug-of-war where every team challenged each other in round robin format. Only the top two teams had a rubber match to decide the winner.
However, individual games were unavoidable where arm wrestling, for males only, was won by Saiful Apli who will be a contender at KDCA next year.

The “lastik” or catapult game was most popular with 65 contestants, though known in early days as a game for boys was won by a lady, Elinda Elijius.
The Buvazoi and Unduk Ngadau contests were judged not based on physical attributes but on merits and achievements.

JTU Buvazoi this year is Jonetter James from Zon Pantai Barat Utara.
The Unduk Ngadau was Josy Majalap from Zon Pantai Barat Utara.
