Fatal fight at Bandaran Berjaya nitespot
ACP Kasim said investigations are ongoing and they are narrowing on the suspect.
Kota Kinabalu: Police are investigating a fight that left one dead and another injured at an entertainment outlet in Bandaran Berjaya, Sunday.

The duo have been identified as Indonesians, aged between 20 and 30, with proper documents and worked as fishing boat crew.

While no arrests have been made yet, Kota Kinabalu Police Chief ACP Kasim Muda said investigations are ongoing and they are narrowing on the suspect.

Preliminary investigations showed that the incident happened between 2am and 3am.

“The information was channelled to us by the outlet’s staff who called police at around 3am,” Kasim said.

Based on preliminary findings, a dispute was believed to have flared up inside the entertainment outlet, escalating into violence.

“We suspect there are elements of an old grudge involved,” Kasim said.

“We are gathering evidence, including scrutinising closed circuit television (CCTV) footage from the area,” he said.
