RANAU: The government should seriously consider upgrading the roads here, especially along Jalan Mesilau in Kundasang, as it has become a world renowned tourist destination.
A road user, Yussof Imbang shared his experience after playing golf at Moon Kinabalu Golf Club in Mesilau. It took him four hours to reach The Kundasang main road despite the relatively short 8km distance.

“The road needs to be upgraded to make it easier not only for locals but also for tourists.
“The government should not turn a blind eye because Jalan Mesilau-Kundasang-Ranau is the focus of tourists in the Asia Pacific region, especially local tourists during weekends and public holidays,” he said.
The congested roads with steep hills saw many of fatal accident cases as it is too narrow. A dual carriageway is needed.
“Facing the congestion for such a long time is not only tiresome but also unsettling as many fear of running out of petrol if stuck in the jam,” Yussof said.
