SANDAKAN: The Energy Commission of Sabah (Ecos) and Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. (SESB) recently raided 15 premises in Kota Kinabalu, Kota Belud, Tuaran and Sandakan on suspicion of tampering with SESB metres and illegal electrical connections that resulted in an estimated loss of RM3 million for the power company, said an official.

Ecos Chief Executive Officer Datuk Abdul Nasser Abdul Wahid said 10 theft cases were found at various premises including shrimp farms, tourist centres, furniture stores, restaurants, ice factories, seafood processing factories and entertainment centres.

He added Ecos also seized evidence such as illegal connection cables, tampered electricity metres and electronic equipment used to interfere with SESB metres.
