DBKK accepts documents certified by JPs: Mayor

Kota Kinabalu: City Hall (DBKK) will accept documents certified true copy and also Statutory Declarations (SDs) made by Justice of the Peace (JP) Sabah pursuant to Section 99 of the Subordinate Courts Act and the Regulations made thereunder.
This was assured by Mayor Datuk Dr Sabin Samitah to a delegation of Justices of Peace Council (Majaps) led by its President Datuk Seri Panglima Clarence Bongkos Malakun recently.

Malakun extended his congratulations and support to Sabin on behalf of Majaps on his appointment.
Sabin is himself a Justice of Peace Sabah and a member of Majaps.
The Mayor, together with Lifred Wong, Director General of City Hall, and other senior officers, briefed Majaps on DBKK’s plans for Kota Kinabalu, in particular the cleanliness and beautification plan for the city area.
On his part, Malakun briefed the Mayor on the powers and duties of JPs pursuant to Section 99 of the Subordinate Courts Act and the Subordinate Courts (Power of Justice of the Peace) (Sabah) Regulations, in particular in respect of statutory declaration, attestation of signature and certification of document.

He also extended a copy of the Circular dated Feb 28, 2023 from the Office of The State Secretary of Sabah to the heads of all state departments and federal departments based in Sabah.
Malakun also presented the Mayor with an embroidered JP badge specially ordered from the UK.
