Applications for diesel subsidy reimbursements from July 1
Applicants must keep their receipts for audit purposes after fuelling up.
PETALING JAYA: Those eligible for the second phase of the subsidised diesel control system (SKDS 2.0) who have yet to receive their fleet cards can apply for reimbursements from July 1.

The finance ministry said applications must be made through the Budi Madani portal, and that applicants must keep their receipts for audit purposes.

“To be eligible for the reimbursements, applicants must register under SKDS 2.0 by June 30 at the latest,” it said in a statement.

It also urged companies already registered under SKDS 2.0 to apply for the fleet cards as soon as possible here.

Second finance minister Amir Hamzah Azizan said Putrajaya was monitoring the implementation of the targeted diesel subsidy system and wanted the initiative to proceed smoothly.

“These reimbursements are a temporary measure to help logistics service providers so that they are not affected by the change in diesel prices,” he said.

Yesterday, transport minister Loke Siew Fook urged bus and van drivers who have not received their fleet cards to keep their receipts whenever they fuel up so that they can claim the costs from the government later.

He said many might not have obtained their fleet cards due to applying at the last minute.

The price of diesel was raised from RM2.15 per litre to RM3.35, but only in West Malaysia.

The rate is the unsubsidised market price for the commodity, based on the average for May 2024. The diesel price will be reviewed every week.
