Chan also commented on the recent restructuring of diesel subsidies by the Federal Government.
He thanked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali for continuing to provide diesel subsidies for Sabah and Sarawak regions.
Citing Sabah’s vast landscape and reliance on 4-wheel-drive vehicles and boats to access remote areas, Chan urged authorities to continuously monitor misappropriation and leakage of subsidised diesel to ensure all users in Sabah can benefit from the subsidies.
“Due to Sabah’s vast landscape with hilly and unpredictable roads, we have to use 4-wheel-drive vehicles that consume a lot of diesel, including large and small boats to connect the remote areas of Sabah.
