LABUAN: Labuan Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LICCI) Chairman Datuk Dahlif Singh said there is still surplus natural gas flare from offshore fields that can be utilised for a third methanol.
“Since tourism is not creating the impact on the local economy, projects of economic importance should be considered for the island,” he said.

He said studies have shown that the gas reserves could last for another two decades or so, besides possibilities of new discoveries.
Dahlif also stressed the need for Labuan Corporation to adopt a corporate style dealing with potential Labuan investors by giving the right answers so that these investors would not shift attention away from Labuan.
