Govt committed to making Sabah a leading sustainability hub: Joachim

Kota Kinabalu: The State Government is committed to making Sabah a leading transformative and sustainability hub aligned with the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Development Plan, said Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam.
He said the State Government has recently set up the Sabah Sustainability and Capacity Development Centre to educate the local community on Sabah's rich biodiversity and developed the Sabah Energy Roadmap and Masterplan 2040 to address Sabah's energy needs and resiliency until 2040.

"The State Government's allocation of RM145 million for sustainable development in the recent budget is a positive signal for Sabah's future. We must now prioritise climate change actions alongside utilising our resources effectively," he said at an event, here, today.
