SIPITANG: Residents of Kg Mendulong have taken matters into their own hands by organizing a community self-help effort to widen a narrow road leading into their village, citing safety concerns and the lack of immediate government assistance.
Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) Division Head Pius Ganang said the entrance to Kg Mendulong was too narrow, prompting the villagers to decide to widen the road themselves through a gotong-royong.

“The road is crucial as it serves as the entrance and exit to the village, connecting 14 surrounding villages,” Pius told the Daily Express.
He said that the gotong-royong was carried out without using government funds, as the residents conducted a collective fundraising effort to purchase the necessary materials.
