Initial investigation revealed that the driver of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) tanker truck had veered off the road and overturned.
AN oil tanker driver crawled out of the vehicle after it overturned near the Kinabalu Park junction along the Ranau-Kota Kinabalu Road, Tuesday afternoon.

Identified as Hamsa Ali, the 48-year-old suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Ranau Fire and Rescue Services Department Chief Ridwan Mohd Taib said a seven-member team led by Becket Gumat was rushed to the scene, some 21km from the station, after receiving a distress call at 12.35pm.

“They arrived at the scene at 1pm and found the victim had already crawled out of the vehicle on his own,” he said.

Initial investigation revealed that the driver of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) tanker truck had veered off the road and overturned.

“The victim was transported to the district hospital for treatment.

“There was no leakage from the tanker.

The operation was called off at 1.31pm after ensuring there were no other dangers,” said Ridwan.
