Safe and sound: Ninety-four-year old Sungkit Akup was found one kilometre from his residence.
Tuaran: A 94-year-old man who was reported missing in Kampung Kionsom Baru, Tamparuli, since Saturday evening was found safe the following day.
The elderly victim, identified as Sungkit Akup, was found by villagers at 4.29pm about one kilometre away from his house.

Tuaran District Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Mohamad Nor Amit, said they received information about the discovery from villagers who joined the search party.
“The victim was found in an exhausted state but uninjured. He was given initial treatment before being sent to Tuaran Hospital for further examination,” he said, adding operations ended at 4.50pm.
At 5.55pm last Saturday, the victim is said to have gone out and upon failure to return, led to a search and rescue (SAR) operation to be carried out.
Eleven firemen including a K9 unit were deployed along with a fire engine and emergency medical rescue service utility vehicle.

The operation was also supported by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and members of the public.
