Missing nonagenarian in Tamparuli found safe

TAMPARULI: A 94-year-old man who was reported missing was found safe on Sunday.

Sungkit Akup was reported to have yet to return home in Kampung Kionsom Baru here after leaving at 5.55pm on Saturday.

District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief Mohamad Nor Amit said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 3:02 pm on Sunday.

A team of firefighters then went to the scene and launched a search and rescue (SAR) operation.

Sungkit was found safe by the public at 4.30pm, a kilometre from where he was reported missing.

The Fire Department's Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team gave the senior citizen initial treatment before being taken to Tuaran Hospital for further treatment.
