 ‘Long-lost’ Coroner’s report laments lack of co-pilot
The Coroner’s report
Kota Kinabalu: Would the outcome of the Nomad air crash of June 6, 1976 been different had co-pilot Kevin Leonard Sario not been persuaded to give up his seat at the last minute by pilot Captain Gandhi Nathan to Johari Stephens?

Col (U) Omar bin Saman of the Civil Aviation Department in Kuala Lumpur, the Director of Flight Operations and Chief Inspector of Accidents in air flights who investigated the tragedy, believed so.

This was among matters raised at the coroner’s inquiry held into the Double Six tragedy, as it was called, three years after it happened.

It was previously reported that nobody in the judiciary was willing to head the inquiry as it was deemed as a “hot potato” and hence the three-year delay.
