Sabahan granny with dementia touches many hearts

Kota Kinabalu: A popular Sabahan content creator’s video of his elderly grandmother with dementia has touched many hearts.
The video on a Facebook page named “Sabahan id Penang” features his 93-year-old “Odu” (grandmother in Dusun).

It shows the woman forgetting stuff and people but welcoming her grandchild and greatgrandchildren with a big smile.
But when they say goodbye, she cries.
Sabahan id Penang has confirmed to Daily Express that his grandmother has dementia.
“Friends if your grandmother or grandfather is still there, please pay them a visit,” he says.

The clip also shows a grandchild greeting the elderly woman but at first, she does not recognise him.
“It has been a long time,” he says, shaking Odu’s hand.

Odu laughs when asked how old she is and says she does not remember. Her family members then remind her that she is actually 93. She smiles throughout the filmed conversation.
Many netizens wished Odu well in the comments section and were pleased to see her still going strong at 93. Some said they missed their grandparents.
The popular 27,000-follower Facebook page was created by Riccie Lewis, a father of two, who has been creating content across different social media platforms sharing his daily family life and attractions, among other things.
