“Today, I visited Masjid Kariah Sembulan, a historic mosque where the first Sabah State Mosque began.
“I have visited this mosque several times, and it is one of the mosques with many worshippers that we need to upgrade.
“For the Friday prayers, more than 1,000 worshipers attend, including not only the local community from around Sembulan but also workers and staff from nearby offices.
“I also want to congratulate the committee of the mosque for always paying attention to its needs,” he told the media during his visit with religious agencies to the mosque, Friday.

Arifin said repairs and upgrades would be carried out pending the design for the construction of the new mosque.
