Kuala Lumpur: More than 30,000 applicants, including farmers and small-scale commodity growers, had been approved for the receipt of cash subsidy assistance under the Budi programme as of today.

In a statement, the finance ministry said recipients would receive initial cash assistance of RM200, scheduled to be disbursed on June 10, directly into their bank accounts.

Those without bank accounts can claim the subsidy in cash by presenting their MyKad at any Bank Simpanan Nasional branch across Peninsular Malaysia.

“Eligible applicants can still register to receive Budi Madani. Applications submitted in June 2024 will qualify for payment for both June and the following month,” it said.

“Applications submitted after June 2024 will only be eligible for payments starting in July 2024, excluding the June payment.”

Budi Madani represents the government’s commitment to ensuring targeted subsidy allocations for eligible groups, including individual assistance (Budi Individu), farmers and small-scale growers (Budi Agri-Komoditi), as well as companies and transport vehicles (MySubsidi Diesel).

The finance ministry said the current application data revealed that most applicants were not approved due to failure to meet the eligibility criteria. Among these were farmers and small-scale growers who were not registered with the relevant ministry’s agencies.

It urged individual applicants who were not approved to check their application status and file appeals through the Budi Madani website.

Farmers and small-scale growers who have yet to register with the relevant ministry agencies are advised to do so before submitting a Budi Madani application.

More information on Budi Madani eligibility requirements is available at https://budimadani.gov.my, or through the Budi Madani hotline (1-800-88-2747 / 03-8882 4565 / 03-8882 4566) or email ([email protected]).

Applicants can also visit any Inland Revenue Board office in Peninsular Malaysia.

Around 300,000 individual diesel vehicle owners, 68,000 farmers, 8,000 livestock breeders, and 34,000 small-scale aquaculture operators are estimated to be eligible for Budi Madani benefits.
