LABUAN: Member of Parliament Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman lamented the misery many travellers on the slow-moving roll on- roll off (ro-ro) ferry here endure in getting across from Menumbuk to the island daily.
He suggested it be replaced with a high speed ro-ro vessel as a solution to easing the congestion and a third operator be approved for the service.

“This is the only way forward as well as a step towards Labuan’s Smart City status,” said Suhaili.
Currently these ferries take two hours just to get to the island from Menumbok and vice versa. Passenger launch takes 45 minutes while speed boats take half an hour.
