RM158,400 syabu seized from illegal

TAWAU: Police seized 2,063.93gm of syabu worth RM158,400 from a foreigner in a raid on Jalan Bunga Raya last Friday.
Tawau Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the 45-year-old suspect was apprehended by officers and members of the Tawau Narcotics Crime Investigation Division at 2.20pm.

He said during the raid, the suspect surrendered to the police a plastic speaker box with two plastic packages containing Syabu.
The seized items were confiscated for further inspection.
“The suspect’s urine test showed negative result and he was remanded for investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) 1952,” he said.
In a separate case, a 51-year-old local was arrested with 84.50gm of syabu worth RM8,500 in a raid on a house in Jalan Sin Onn, around 11pm, on Tuesday.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) 1952.

Jasmin urged the people in the district to report any information related to crime and drugs, including suspicions about family members, neighbours and villagers involved in illegal activities.
