Kota Kinabalu: Former Chief Minister Tan Sri Harris Salleh said Labuan leaders should request for its return to Sabah should the Federal Government fail to implement suggestions for the island’s betterment.
He said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s recent statement expressing support for the Labuan-Sabah bridge construction is merely “a hopeful declaration”.

“This is just hope, nothing else. The statement raises the possibility of the bridge being built under a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) model.
He said Malayan leaders visiting Sabah and Sarawak should stop making “goodies” statement just for the sake of making a statement.
